Default page

The use of default pages means that you can lead your website visitors down the route you'd like them to take. For example, if you have a folder on your website called 'Products' you would set your best selling product as the default page for that folder so that the user doesn't have to look around your site to find it. This makes there life easier and increases your chance of getting an enquiry. Should you then want to promote a special offer, you could create a new page in your 'Products' folder and then set this page as default. As this page would be seen more often, you'd be able to promote your special offer very effectively.

1. First select the folder you'd like to set the default page for and then select your default page. If the page you've selected has a thick border (e.g. default page icon), then that page is already set as default.

2. Press the default button on the sitemapdefault page button in the sitemap
3.The selected page will be set as default and will be shown with a new icon. There will also be a message shown under the sitemap tool buttonsdefault selection

Notes on default pages;

  • If you are using Dub3Pro, any page which is set as default will need to be published onto the live site as it will have an affect on the look of the live site
