Show In Menu

The show in menu flag can really help you when building your web pages. In it's simplest, checking the button to ticked means that the page will show on the front of the site (in the navigation) and unchecking it will remove it from the front navigation. This allows you to bulid pages in the background without showing them to your website users so that they can be approved by other members of staff or simply put live when you think they are finished.

show in menu button in the page properties

In the example above, the page selected has the show in menu flag set to off. To update this live on the site, the Save button must be pressed. It is normal practise for Home or Default pages not to be shown in the menu as they are available by clicking on the folder name and can be found in the breadcrumb easily but this is up to you and how you think your clients will use your website.

Note: If you set the show in menu flag to off, it will not be shown in the Internal links folder when linking pages.
